Act as full P&L owner of the Cards portfolio, accountable for spend growth, card activation, revenue (interchange, interest income, fees), portfolio quality, and cost efficiency. Lead end-to-end product ownership of card products, including product design, value proposition, pricing (fees, interest rates), rewards/loyalty programs, and lifecycle management. Own the digital card issuance journey, including instant issuance, virtual cards, tokenization, and integration with wallets, ensuring high activation and first-use conversion. Drive spend and engagement strategies, leveraging campaigns, merchant partnerships, BNPL/instalment offerings, and localized use cases relevant to Egyptian consumers. Establish and manage credit card underwriting frameworks in collaboration with Risk, including credit policies, limit assignment, utilization management, and portfolio monitoring. Drive portfolio analytics and optimization, including customer segmentation, spend behavior, delinquency trends, and lifecycle interventions to maximize engagement and minimize risk. Develop and scale merchant and ecosystem partnerships, including co-branded cards, fintech collaborations, and acceptance-driven campaigns to increase card usage. Ensure strong alignment with Risk and Compliance to embed fraud controls, AML measures, chargeback handling, and full adherence to CBE regulations across all card products. Oversee cards' operations and servicing, including disputes, chargebacks, settlements, authorization performance, and SLA adherence in partnership with Operations and Technology. Manage scheme relationships (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) including commercial agreements, compliance requirements, and optimization of interchange and scheme economics. Monitor portfolio health metrics including activation rates, spend per card, utilization, delinquency (DPD buckets), charge-offs, and fraud losses. Represent the Cards function at executive forums, providing structured insights on portfolio performance, revenue drivers, risk indicators, and growth strategy. Build and lead a high-performing Cards team across product, credit strategy, analytics, partnerships, and operations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline from a reputable university. Minimum 10+ years of experience in Egyptian retail banking, with at least 4–5 years in leadership roles within Cards (credit/debit/prepaid). Proven experience managing credit card portfolios, including P&L ownership, spend growth, and risk management. Strong understanding of cards economics (interchange, revolving interest, fees, cost drivers) and payments ecosystem. Deep knowledge of Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) regulations related to cards, consumer finance, digital payments, and customer protection. Experience in digital banking, neobanks, or large-scale digital transformation programs within traditional banks. Strong understanding of card lifecycle: acquisition, onboarding, activation, engagement, credit management, and collections. Experience working with card schemes (Visa, Mastercard) and payment processors. Advanced analytical capability, with hands-on experience using customer analytics, risk models, and performance dashboards. Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to balance growth, profitability, and credit risk. Experience in fraud risk management and transaction monitoring frameworks. Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in fast-paced, digital-first environments.
