Apply for this job Basic information Job role Logistics Career level Mid Career (2-6 years) Keywords Senior Logistics Specialist - Logistics - Trading Description Analyze historical sales, customer requirements, and sales forecasts, and collaborate with Sales and Commercial teams to develop accurate forecasts. Develop supply plans based on forecasts, inventory levels, supplier lead times, minimum order quantities. Monitor inventory levels and maintain the required stock availability. Identify potential stock shortages, excess inventory, slow-moving, and obsolete items. Coordinate shipments considering supplier readiness dates, production lead times, shipping schedules, transit times, and customs clearance requirements. Monitor open purchase orders and expected shipment arrival dates and optimize order consolidation and container utilization. Oversee the day-to-day logistics operations, including transportation and inventory management. Ensure that goods are delivered on time, in the right quantity, and at the right cost. Plan and coordinate the movement of goods across local, national, and international routes. Select and manage third-party logistics providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor their performance. Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Manage the proper documentation for shipments, including customs clearance, bills of lading, and other required paperwork. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality. Work closely with supply chain, procurement, and sales teams to align logistics activities with business objectives. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve logistics issues promptly. Provide regular reports on logistics performance, transportation costs, inventory levels, and other key metrics. Analyze logistics data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field from a reputable university. 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or a related field. Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation management, and warehouse operations. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). Analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations related to logistics.
