Apply for this job Basic information Job role Tax Management Career level Management (6-10 years) Description Determining exactly what is subject to the standard 14% VAT versus what qualifies for tax exemptions or schedule taxes. Managing VAT on imported digital services from non-resident suppliers (like global hotel beds or international tech platforms) where company must account for and settle the VAT locally. Maximizing the recovery of input VAT on corporate expenses, especially given recent major updates to the Egyptian VAT Law which restructured standard deductions and schedule taxes. Ensuring every single corporate booking voucher, cancellation, and transaction is instantly pushed to the ETA portal in real-time. Ensuring monthly employee payroll taxes, social insurance, and the mandatory 0.25% comprehensive health insurance contribution are seamlessly calculated and submitted. Preparing and filing the annual corporate tax return based on Egypt’s 22.5% standard tax rate on net profits. Managing 1% to 5% withholding taxes on local vendor payments, as well as handling the 20% WHT on foreign service payments unless mitigated. Ensuring any transactions, management fees, or bookings are priced to prevent tax disputes from authorities. Utilizing the tax treaty to optimize corporate tax structures and prevent dual-taxation on cross-border corporate services. Serving as the primary point of contact for external tax auditors and government tax inspectors. Drafting defense files, lodging appeals against arbitrary tax estimations, and actively settling historic tax disputes using the government's newly modernized, business-friendly dispute resolution frameworks. Requirements Bachelor degree in business administration or relevant major from a reputable university. Minimum 10 years of experience preferably from travel agencies, hotel chains, premium transport or big 4 accounting firms. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent command of English.
