Description
  • Define and execute the overarching retail banking strategy to capture market share and achieve aggressive long-term growth targets.
  • Hold full accountability for the retail vertical’s P&L, optimizing Net Interest Margin (NIM), fee income, and overall return on equity.
  • Directly manage and mentor the Heads of Assets, Liabilities, Payments, and Digital to ensure departmental goals align with the bank’s commercial vision.
  • Drive the product innovation roadmap across lending, deposits, and card services to ensure market-leading positioning in the Egyptian landscape.
  • Oversee the convergence of traditional banking products with digital delivery, ensuring the mobile platform is the primary engine for customer acquisition and retention.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for each product line, intervening to pivot strategies based on real-time commercial performance.
  • Lead the pricing committee for retail products, balancing competitive market rates with the bank’s profitability and liquidity requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Risk Officer to define the retail credit appetite and ensure the portfolio remains healthy amidst macroeconomic shifts.
  • Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships with fintechs, retailers, and payment aggregators to expand the bank’s ecosystem reach.
  • Optimize the cost-to-serve model by migrating high-volume manual processes to automated, digital-first workflows.
  • Represent the retail business in board-level discussions, providing expert analysis on market trends, regulatory impacts, and competitive threats.
  • Ensure absolute compliance with Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) regulations and internal governance frameworks across all retail operations.
  • Champion a data-driven culture, utilizing advanced analytics to drive cross-selling opportunities and personalized customer value propositions.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process for the retail division, ensuring efficient capital allocation and resource management.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear benchmarks for success and driving professional development across the retail leadership team.
Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 10–12 years of experience in retail banking or consumer finance, with strong exposure to retail lending products.
• Hands-on experience managing retail assets portfolios including personal loans, auto finance, or credit cards.
• Strong understanding of Egyptian retail lending market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscape.
• Experience working with digital lending platforms and automated decisioning systems.
• Good knowledge of credit risk concepts including scorecards, affordability models, delinquency management, and portfolio monitoring.
• Familiarity with Central Bank of Egypt regulations related to retail lending and consumer protection.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Risk, Collections, Technology, and Operations teams.
• Strong execution focus with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
