Description
- Oversee and manage data storage systems, including SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and other storage solutions.
- Configure, provision, and optimize storage resources to ensure efficient and reliable data access and storage. Configure zoning and LUN masking
- Develop and implement data backup strategies and schedules to ensure regular and consistent backups of critical data.
- Test and validate backup processes and restore procedures to ensure data recoverability in case of system failures or disasters.
- Implement data replication techniques to create redundancy and ensure data availability across multiple locations or systems.
- Design and manage disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Monitor storage performance metrics and conduct regular performance analysis to identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Optimize storage systems for performance, capacity, and reliability as per business requirements.
- Implement and manage access controls, encryption, and authentication mechanisms to safeguard stored data from unauthorized access or breaches.
- Ensure compliance with data security regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Forecast storage requirements based on business growth and data usage trends, and plan for future capacity needs.
- Manage storage allocation and utilization to optimize resources and control costs.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and maintenance activities on storage systems to ensure security, stability, and reliability.
- Manage vendor SLA.
- Participate in evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Generate reports on storage performance, capacity utilization, and backup success rates for management review.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputable university.
- Proven experience as a Storage and Data Protection Engineer or in a similar role.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of technologies, storage protocols, and storage management. Familiarity with data protection strategies, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong understanding of storage security practices, access controls, and encryption.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for data protection-related issues.
- Proficiency in monitoring and management tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Project management experience and proficiency in project management tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality storage and data protection services.
